In just four months of operation, the DOT-Chain Defence marketplace has delivered military equipment worth over ₴6 billion to the armed forces, according to Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.

According to the minister, nearly 144,000 units of equipment have been supplied. 90 manufacturers are involved in the process, steadily boosting the country’s defense capabilities.

“The new system has changed the approach to supply: now brigades themselves determine what they need, while all legal, financial, and organizational procedures are handled by the Ministry of Defense’s Defense Procurement Agency,” Shmyhal explained.

He added that DOT-Chain Defence has already been scaled to 184 Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades and 2 National Guard corps.

“This is one of the key digital projects in the defense sector,” the minister wrote.

How DOT-Chain Defence works

As previously reported by RBC-Ukraine, the system operates like a regular online store. But instead of household goods, military units independently select drones, which are purchased using funds from the Defense Procurement Agency.

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal explained that the DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace has become a platform where combat brigades can directly procure various types of UAVs.

In the first month of operation, 5,600 drones worth a total of 216 million hryvnias were delivered to the front lines through the DOT-Chain Defence IT system.

The first order in the DOT-Chain Defence IT system was placed on July 31.
