Fires broke out in Cherkasy overnight on May 3-4 following a Russian drone attack, including a blaze at a dormitory, according to Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration.

"Several fires broke out in the regional center as a result of the drone attack," said the official.

He specified that a dormitory was among the damaged buildings - "a fire started in one of the apartments." The head of the regional military administration added that windows were also shattered.

According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties or injuries in Cherkasy.

Emergency services are currently working at the scene, the official added.

"Preliminary data indicate no injuries. All services are on site," the post stated.

Overnight Shahed attack

During the night of May 3 to 4, Russian forces launched another drone attack on Ukraine using kamikaze drones. Launches of the Russian drones were detected from Saturday evening. Due to the renewed air threat, air raid alerts were declared in several regions across the country.

It was also reported that several explosions were heard in Cherkasy amid the Shahed drone attack. The head of the regional administration confirmed air defense activity.

Additionally, multiple explosions were heard overnight in Kyiv amid the drone attack. Air defense systems were actively operating in the capital.

Later, it was reported that fires had broken out in various districts of Kyiv due to falling debris from intercepted kamikaze drones. Some of the fires occurred in residential buildings. According to the latest reports, children are among the injured.
