Donald Trump says World War III won’t happen over Ukraine

US President Donald Trump stated that a third world war over Ukraine will not happen, according to a broadcast of his remarks to journalists at the White House.
During the press conference, Trump once again emphasized that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine did not occur during his presidency.
“I didn't start this war. This is Biden’s deal, and I came into it, and it was a mess. It could have led to World War III. In my opinion, this could have led to World War III. That won’t happen,” he assured.
According to Trump, when he returned to the White House for a second term, the war was already in full swing.
“When I left, this wasn't even a thought for four years there. Nobody talked about I spoke to President Putin about Ukraine. And this all went because of some really bad decisions that were made,” he said.
The US president noted that over 7,000 people were killed in the Russia-Ukraine war just last week.
“And you know it doesn't affect our country. We're not losing Americans, but they're losing Russians, Ukrainians, mostly soldiers for the most part. Soldiers. And we think we're going to get it. We hope we're gonna get it stopped. I thought this would be because of my relationship with President Putin.I thought this would be very quick,” Trump stated.
Trump’s role in resolving Russia’s war against Ukraine
At the same press conference, Trump said that his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding Ukraine is expected to take place within two weeks.
He previously mentioned that he would meet Putin in Budapest to discuss the possibility of ending the inglorious war between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump noted that it can be difficult for him to hold meetings because Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin have a bad relationship.
