US President Donald Trump believes that Western troops will be needed in Ukraine "in some form" as part of a peacekeeping mission, Sky News reports.

When asked about Russia’s opposition to the deployment of NATO peacekeepers in Ukraine, US President Donald Trump said that was not what they had told him.

He also stated that peacekeepers would be needed in some form because something would be done to satisfy all sides.

Speaking more broadly about peace talks, the US president reiterated that Ukraine would require peacekeeping forces in some form.

Question regarding Western peacekeepers in Ukraine

Earlier, it was reported that on February 24, US President Donald Trump stated that he would not oppose the possible deployment of European troops to Ukraine, potentially as part of a peace agreement.

Recently, media outlets have reported that Europe is developing a plan to send soldiers to Ukraine. According to Western press, European countries are prepared to allocate up to 30,000 troops for such a mission.

However, journalists have noted that European forces are not expected to be stationed directly on the front lines. Instead, they will likely be deployed to several cities in the east and south of the country.

As anticipated, this week, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to visit Washington to present Trump with a specific plan for sending European soldiers to Ukraine.
