Short curtains

While window sill-length curtains used to be considered a practical solution, in 2025 they are hopelessly outdated. Visually, such models "cut" the space, make the room smaller, and look cheap. This is especially true for traditional tulle curtains in combination with shortened curtains - this option no longer meets modern trends.

What is relevant? Maximum length! Curtains that touch the floor or form a light drape give the interior a luxurious and expensive look. Popular models are made of light linen or silk fabric that flows along the window.

Excessive colorfulness and active prints

A few years ago, bright curtains with large flowers, geometric patterns, or intricate ornaments were in fashion. But in 2025, such solutions have gone out of fashion, as they make the interior look overloaded and "noisy".

Contrasting combinations, such as bright red curtains against blue walls or large floral motifs in minimalist interiors, look especially outdated.

What to use instead? Natural shades are in fashion - sand, terracotta, olive, pale blue. These colors harmoniously fit into any style, giving the room lightness and sophistication.

Lambrequins with rigid pleats, fringes, or tassels have long been a relic of the past, but some people still continue to use them in classic interiors. In 2025, this decor finally went out of fashion. Not only does it look old-fashioned, but it also weighs down the space, making the room visually smaller.

What do you get instead? Simplicity and lightness! Single-layer curtains made of lightweight fabric or Roman blinds without unnecessary details look much more elegant. Especially relevant are models made of textured materials such as linen, cotton, or fine wool.

Curtain rod at window level

Previously, cornices were mounted directly above the window frame, but in 2025 this solution was recognized as unsuccessful. This method of attachment visually reduces the height of the ceiling, making the space look smaller.

How to do it right? To make the room seem more spacious, the cornice should be mounted as high as possible - ideally under the ceiling. This creates the effect of tall windows and adds lightness to the room.

What to choose? Matte fabrics that have a pleasant texture and look natural are in fashion. For example, linen with a rough texture, woolen curtains, or a combination of two natural materials.
