Famous plastic surgeon, Matthew Naykil, revealed on his TikTok that there is a skincare routine that can visually take off up to five years from your face without any surgical intervention.
The secret to youthful skin
The doctor explained that the foundation of skincare starts with gentle cleansing. He recommends a mild, fragrance- and dye-free cleanser. The next step is a pH-balanced toner to maintain the skin’s natural equilibrium.
Recommended active ingredients
After cleansing and toning, Naykil suggests using active ingredients such as glycolic acid, retinoids, and hydroquinone. For prescription-strength products, only a pea-sized amount is needed.
Moisturizing is essential, with creams that are also free from fragrances and dyes. The final step is high-quality sun protection to shield the skin from harmful UV rays.
“This routine can visually take three to five years off your appearance,” the expert noted.
Why medical supervision matters
In video comments, users asked about combining acids with retinoids. Naykil emphasized that these products should not be used without a doctor’s guidance. Glycolic acid is recommended for morning use, retinoids in the evening, and retinol should be introduced gradually, two to three times per week, depending on skin sensitivity. Improper use can cause serious burns or damage.
All of these products, including hydroquinone, should only be used under a doctor’s prescription.
Matthew Naykil advises against chasing fast results or experimenting alone. Updating your skincare routine can have noticeable effects, but only with professional consultation and a safe approach.
