Dnipro heavily attacked by Russian Shahed drones: Fires in the city, children injured

On the evening of April 16, Russian forces launched a massive attack on the city with Shahed kamikaze drones. Several fires broke out as a result of the strikes, and two children were injured, according to the Telegram channels of Mykola Lukashuk, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, and Serhii Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
At 9:55 PM Kyiv time, the Air Force warned that Russian troops had launched Shahed drones at Dnipro.
"Stay away from windows, follow the two-wall rule. We trust in air defense forces," Lukashuk wrote.
Local Telegram channels reported that more than 10 explosions were heard in Dnipro. Power outages occurred in some areas of the city.
According to Lysak, several fires broke out in Dnipro due to the drone attack.
"Residential buildings were damaged. According to preliminary information, two children were injured. We are verifying all the data. The air alert is still ongoing, so please ensure your safety," added the head of the regional state administration.
Russia's attack on Ukraine on the evening of April 16
On the evening of Wednesday, April 16, Russian forces launched a missile strike on the city of Izium in the Kharkiv region. As a result of the attack, two people were injured.
According to preliminary information, a 35-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were injured in the missile strike. They have been hospitalized.
The enemy strike also damaged a private house.
The Deputy Mayor of Izium for humanitarian affairs, Volodymyr Matsokin, reported that a 7-year-old child was also injured by the Russian attack.
