US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin did not agree on a meeting involving Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, states the Russian leader’s aide, Yuri Ushakov, according to RIA-Novosti.

Ushakov said that media rumors do not reflect what Putin and Trump agreed on in Alaska.

"Right now, everyone is talking about a trilateral meeting, about a meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy, but as far as I know, there was no agreement on this between Putin and Trump," he added.

Ushakov also noted that many mutual understandings were reportedly reached between Trump and Putin.

Meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin

US President Donald Trump stated several times before his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that he wanted to use it to prepare a trilateral summit that would also include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He said he wanted to hold such a meeting quickly and even suggested that Alaska could serve as the location.

However, after the meeting, Russia did not change its position regarding a leaders-level meeting with Ukraine. Russian officials continue to claim that Putin is supposedly ready, but preparations are needed before the meeting.

Notably, Politico recently reported, citing sources, that the US wants to organize technical talks between Ukraine and Russia to prepare for a leaders’ meeting.
