'Dialogue, not surrender': Ukraine's Minister outlines Ukrainian stance at London talks

During today's meeting with partners in London, Ukraine reaffirmed its stance on being ready for negotiations, but not for capitulation, Yulia Svyrydenko, Minister of Economy of Ukraine, reports.
"Ukraine is ready to negotiate - but not to surrender. There will be no agreement that hands Russia the stronger foundations it needs to regroup and return with greater violence," Svyrydenko stated.
A complete ceasefire on land, in the air, and at sea is a necessary first step toward peace. However, if Russia prefers a limited pause, Ukraine will respond in kind.
"Our people will not accept a frozen conflict disguised as peace. We will never recognize the occupation of Crimea. And if NATO membership is not granted, Ukraine will require binding security guarantees - ones strong enough to deter future aggression, and clear enough to ensure lasting peace," Ukraine's Minister emphasized.
Negotiations in London on April 23
Earlier, the reports indicated that on April 23 negotiations would take place in London between the delegations of Ukraine, the UK, the US, France, and Germany. The meeting was expected to discuss a comprehensive ceasefire.
A day before the meeting, several Western media outlets began reporting that the US intended to present its peace plan, which does not satisfy Ukraine, as it proposes recognizing Crimea as Russian.
Against the backdrop of these statements, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine would not recognize the occupied territories as Russian.
Later, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio canceled his trip to London. The reason for this was reportedly Zelensky's refusal of the key US proposal - to recognize Crimea as part of Russia.
Today, the news emerged that the meeting of foreign ministers of the aforementioned countries in London has been postponed. The negotiations will take place at the level of senior officials.
An RBC-Ukraine source reported that the Ukrainian delegation in London is ready "for all formats and all conversations.
