Denmark to allocate nearly €40 million for innovation fund to support Ukraine

The government of Denmark has decided to allocate 300 million Danish kroner (almost 40 million euros) to an innovation fund that will support Ukraine’s growing need for rapid technological development on the battlefield, according to the Ministry of Defense of Denmark.
Denmark’s Minister of Defense, Troels Lund Poulsen, held consultations with the Foreign Policy Committee the day before, which supported the allocation of 300 million Danish kroner to the innovation fund for Ukraine.
The fund will focus, among other things, on technological areas related to electronic warfare and drones, as technologies are rapidly developing and new technological solutions have a significant impact on the battlefield.
"There is no doubt that Ukraine has a great need to counter the massive pressure it faces on the front lines from Russian forces. The development of new technological solutions on the battlefield is one way in which Ukrainians can balance the Russian advantage, and the funds from the innovation pool will help make this happen. It is important that we continue to support Ukraine so it can continue its fight for freedom," Poulsen said.
Denmark’s assistance to Ukraine
In December of last year, Denmark allocated 2.1 billion Danish kroner (about 281 million euros) for a package of assistance to Ukraine. Its goal is to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.
Denmark also provided Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets.
Denmark, France, and Lithuania provided 150 million euros for Ukrainian weapons. The funds will be directed toward the production of missiles, drones, and artillery systems.
