Joint exercises, known as Wings of Defense, have begun in Denmark, involving Ukrainian troops alongside their Danish counterparts. They are practicing tasks to counter drone attacks, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

"Ukrainian military personnel arrived in Denmark to support partners in response to the appearance of unidentified drones over the country," the General Staff reported.

During the week, participants will exchange experiences, improve their training level, and enhance their skills in countering aerial threats.

The agency emphasized that such exercises strengthen the interoperability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Denmark, making the countries stronger in their joint commitment to peace and security in Europe.

Unidentified drones in Europe

In recent weeks, Denmark, Poland, and Romania have experienced a wave of drone incursions, as well as violations of Estonian airspace by Russian fighter jets.

On September 27, Denmark confirmed that unidentified drones had been spotted over several Ministry of Defense facilities the previous night. On September 25, unidentified drones also flew over Denmark's airports in Aalborg, Esbjerg, Sønderborg, and the Skrydstrup Air Base.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russian tankers could be used to launch and control drones over European cities. Still, Danish intelligence services have not yet confirmed Russia's involvement in the incidents in Denmark.
