Denmark becomes first NATO state to invest in weapons production in Ukraine
Denmark will invest in the manufacturing of Ukrainian weapons. This is the first NATO country to sponsor, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
As part of the 23rd meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov met with Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen and Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren.
Denmark and Ukraine signed a memorandum on the purchase of weapons and equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers.
“This is a big step, as Denmark has become the first foreign NATO country to invest in arms production in Ukraine,” Umerov said.
The two sides also agreed on cooperation between Ukraine and the Netherlands to support the Ukrainian defense industry.

Weapons production in Ukraine
During the full-scale war, Ukraine greatly increased its weapons production, namely drones, electronic warfare equipment, ammunition, and more.
Ukraine also creates joint ventures with partners. For example, Ukraine and the United States have recently agreed to launch a joint venture to repair and maintain American armored vehicles.
Ukraine and the German concern Rheinmetall will produce Lynx armored vehicles. The first vehicle will come this year.
The defense company KNDS will open a 155 mm ammunition production facility in Ukraine.
