Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov met with a Danish delegation led by his colleague Troels Lund Poulsen to discuss the current situation at the front, joint defense production, and training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16s.

Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, also participated in the conversation in Kyiv on the Ukrainian side.

According to Umerov, Ukraine-Denmark defense cooperation is "growing," and a "new unified mechanism for investing in Ukrainian companies" is being developed.

He noted that direct investment, joint defense companies, and localization of production in Ukraine are priorities in this area.

Umerov especially thanked his Danish counterpart for his co-leadership in providing F-16 aircraft and training Ukrainian pilots.

"I call on our Danish partners to finance the training of more Ukrainian F-16 pilots in other countries, if possible," the Ukrainian Defense Minister said.

Umerov also briefed the Danish delegation on the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine.

The parties also discussed the immediate and long-term needs of the Defense Forces.

Assistance to Ukraine from Denmark

Back in February, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced that her country had decided to provide Ukraine with all of its artillery.

She also called on Western countries to provide Ukrainian defenders with weapons, ammunition, and air defense systems that they are not using yet.

In March, Denmark announced another package of military aid to Ukraine worth $330 million. It included Caesar self-propelled artillery systems.

Earlier today, it was reported that Ukraine and Denmark will expand bilateral cooperation in the field of defense technology and the development of the UAV industry.
