Defense giants enter Ukraine: 25 companies already expanding production

Ukraine is creating a new defense hub, Defence City, with 25 leading global companies already involved. Investments are going into weapons production, which is also being supplied to the front lines, according to Ukraine's Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.
"Some 25 international companies, including world defense giants, are currently at various stages of localizing their production in Ukraine," he wrote on X.
According to the minister, each manufacturer is working in close dialogue with the Ukrainian government.
"We offer cooperation under the Build with Ukraine/Build in Ukraine or Danish model. The priority: ensuring that the main share of products goes to the needs of the UAF," Shmyhal added.
The Defense Minister also stated that Ukraine will create Defence City - a special regime for developing the defense industry that offers many benefits for investors.
Under the Defence City framework, the following will apply:

tax benefits;

simplified customs procedures;

a mechanism for relocating production to safer regions;

expanded state financial support;

opportunities for export and integration into global supply chains.

"Ukraine is where next-generation weapons are being designed and tested on the battlefield. Investing in our defense industry today means investing in the security of all Europe," Shmyhal emphasized.
The day before, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with his Polish counterparts. The parties agreed to create joint defense projects, particularly concerning unmanned systems.
Shmyhal also promised that the Ministry of Defense will provide 1,000 interceptor drones in Ukraine within a day - this is expected in the near future.
