Russian President Vladimir Putin made another inappropriate statement about the invasion of Ukraine. He claimed that Russia is supposedly "defending its sovereignty," as it did in 1612, according to Russian media.

"Today, while preserving these traditions, we defend the sovereignty, honor, and dignity of our native Russia through peaceful, creative, and military work," the Russian leader declared.

He claimed that the struggle of the people’s militia against Polish forces in 1612 allowed Russia to uphold the "foundations of the state" and the "sacred right to hold onto its own roots and moral pillars."

According to Putin, Russians supposedly know how to "close ranks" in the face of "global challenges and threats."

"Despite all the difficulties, problems, and tragedies of the present — of which, unfortunately, there are plenty — we strive for friendship and cooperation with everyone, not only neighboring peoples but all nations on Earth," he said.

On Tuesday, November 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law allowing military conscription throughout the entire calendar year.

Russian media have repeatedly reported that conscripts are being forced to sign contracts for subsequent deployment to the war in Ukraine.

Specifically, young Russians who refuse to sign a contract face threats of beatings, confinement in military detention facilities, and even "erasure."

Meanwhile, the aggressor country continues a large-scale militarization of education. Students in grades 8–9 are being taught to operate drones — officially to help develop an "understanding of modern combat experience."
