Defeat of Pantsir-S near Belgorod reported - Governor assures that is 'burning grass'
A launcher of the Russian Pantsir-S air defense system may have been hit near Belgorod. However, Russian officials claim that it was grass burning.
Local media reported that on Saturday, June 22, a launcher of the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile system was hit near the village of Dubovoye, eight kilometers from Belgorod.
According to the web, the air defense system was allegedly attacked by cluster munitions, and the crew managed to survive. Smoke was spotted over the site of the incident.

At the same time, the governor of the Belgorod region claims that Russian air defense shot down several targets on the approach to Belgorod. According to him, "grass was burning" near the village of Dubovoye.
Media reports indicate that the grass was indeed burning near Belgorod after the Pantsyr-S was hit.
What is known about Pantsir-S
"The Pantsir-S is a Russian self-propelled ground-based anti-aircraft missile and gun system. This system, as well as its newer version, Pantsir-S1, are used for close protection of civilian and military targets.
These systems have been installed near the Kremlin and other important facilities in Moscow and other Russian cities.
In early 2024, Ukrainian special services attacked the Shcheglovsky Val plant in Tula. The plant produces Pantsir-S air defense missile systems.
