Debris from Russian drones fell in Kyiv, consequences reported
In Kyiv, debris from a drone used in a Russian airstrike fell in one of the districts during the night of October 2. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported, states Serhii Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
"Due to an attack by Russian Armed Forces' strike drones on Kyiv, debris was reported to have fallen in the Solomianskyi district, within a residential area," the official stated.
Preliminary information indicates that several buildings suffered damage to window glazing as a result of the incident.
"No information has been received regarding casualties or destruction," the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration reported.
He added that operational updates regarding the consequences of the Russian airstrike on Kyiv are ongoing.
Additionally, the official noted that air defense operations continue in Kyiv due to the threat posed by the Russian drones to the capital.
Fire has occurred in a building
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported in his Telegram that there was a medical call in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital.
"According to preliminary information, as a result of debris impact, there is a fire in a residential building," the mayor stated.
Meanwhile, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that at least five parked cars were also damaged.
Information about debris falling in the Sviatoshynskyi district
The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Popko, stated that, in addition to the Solomianskyi district, debris from enemy drones was also recorded falling in the Sviatoshynskyi district.
"According to preliminary information that is being verified, a fire broke out in a 16-story residential building. Emergency services are heading to the scene," the official wrote in his Telegram.
"Preliminary reports suggest possible partial destruction of the upper floors. Firefighting is underway over an area of 15 square meters. Evacuation of residents is in progress. Information regarding casualties is being clarified," the administration reported.
Update: One casualty reported
According to Klitschko, one person was injured in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital - a residential building where a fire broke out due to debris from a Russian drone strike.
"The man received medical assistance on-site," the mayor reported.
Drone attack on Kyiv
Earlier reports indicated that late on the evening of November 1, the Air Forces of Ukraine informed about the launch of new groups of Shahed drones by Russian forces targeting Ukraine. These drones entered the country's airspace from the northern direction.
By nearly five in the morning on November 2, an air raid alert was declared in the capital, and explosions were heard around the same time in the Kyiv area. Local authorities confirmed that air defense systems were operational in the city.
Furthermore, it was later reported that the enemy's air attack was repelled in the Kyiv region as well, where hostile drones were detected.
