Death toll rises after Russian strike on National Academy of Sciences building in Kyiv

The death toll from the Russian strike on the National Academy of Sciences building in Kyiv has risen to two, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
"In the Shevchenkivskyi district, in a non-residential building in the city center, rescue workers unblocked the body of another victim during emergency rescue work," he said.
Thus, two people were killed as a result of the Russian strike on the building of Ukraine’s National Academy of Sciences.
The State Emergency Service said that emergency rescue works at the site of the Russian strike have been completed.

Earlier today, a Russian drone hit the National Academy of Sciences building in central Kyiv.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the incident, announcing a rescue operation, firefighting efforts, and the search for people who might have been inside. The president also promised a response to Russia.
In addition, an aide to former National Security and Defense Council Secretary Volodymyr Horbulin was killed in the building of Ukraine’s National Academy of Sciences. He said he was at work at the time of the strike and suffered a minor injury.
Russian drones attacked Kyiv this morning. The strikes damaged facilities in the Obolonskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts of the capital, including a gas station and an office building.
RBC-Ukraine also reported that Russian forces struck the Dobrobut medical center in Kyiv. Several people were injured in the attack, and the medical center will temporarily suspend operations.
