Death toll from Russia's August 5 attack on Kyiv rises to 2

A man who was wounded in the massive attack on Kyiv on August 5 died in hospital, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.
"It became known that, unfortunately, a 55-year-old man who was wounded in the August 5 attack on Kyiv died in hospital," the media outlet said.
Thus, two people were killed as a result of the Russian attack, while another 26 were injured.
On the night of August 5, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine using 28 missiles and 115 drones. Despite the work of air defense forces, the ballistic missiles could not be shot down.
The main strike targeted the Kyiv region. In the capital, damage was recorded in the Holosiivskyi, Obolonskyi, Desnianskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts.
The attack damaged residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, while fires broke out at warehouses. An ammonia leak also occurred in the Holosiivskyi district and was quickly contained by the relevant services.
In addition, facilities belonging to Epicentr (a Ukrainian home improvement and retail chain), ROZETKA (a major Ukrainian online retailer), and Nova Poshta (Ukraine's private postal and logistics operator) were damaged as a result of the Russian strike.
The bodies of those killed were found on a railway platform near the logistics centers that were attacked. According to the latest data, at least 17 people were killed and another 36 injured in the Kyiv region as a result of the Russian attack.
