At least 22 people have been killed as a result of the Russian strike on Kyiv. The number of injured continues to rise, according to Kyiv police on Telegram and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.

According to the police, investigators have already received 1,700 reports of property damage caused by the Russian strike.

As of 5:30 p.m. Kyiv time, 21 fatalities had been confirmed. In the Darnytskyi district alone, the Russians killed 11 people. Rescue workers recovered the bodies of two women from the rubble of an apartment building hit by a missile.

A total of 100 people were reported injured, including three young children and one minor.

For his part, Tymur Tkachenko clarified at 6:50 p.m. that the death toll had risen to 22.

According to Tymur Tkachenko, 23 people have already been reported killed in the Russian attack.

Strike on Kyiv

On the night of July 2, Russian forces launched a large number of missiles and attack drones at Kyiv. In particular, the Russians made extensive use of jet-powered drones during the attack.

In Kyiv's Darnytskyi district, a missile struck a residential high-rise building.

The head of the State Emergency Service reported that up to nine people could still be trapped under the rubble. The rescue operation is ongoing.

For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy assured that there would be a just response to such an attack.
