Death toll after Russia's missile attack on Odesa region rises
The death toll from the Russian missile attack on Odesa region on October 9 has increased, with a wounded man succumbing to his injuries in the hospital, citing the head of Odesa’s regional military administration, Oleh Kiper.
As of the morning of October 10, the number of killed in the Odesa region has risen to seven.
According to Kiper, a 46-year-old port employee passed away this morning in the hospital.
"Doctors did everything they could, but the injuries were too severe. I extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends," the statement reads.
Missile attack on Odesa region
On the evening of Wednesday, October 9, Russian occupiers launched a missile strike on the Odesa region. According to local authorities, the Russians targeted port infrastructure. As a result of the attack, a civilian vessel under the Panamanian flag, the container ship Shui Spirit, was damaged.
This marks the third foreign vessel attacked by Russia in four days.
Initially, reports indicated five people were killed and eight others injured in the attack. Four of the injured were in critical condition. Later, the head of Odesa’s regional military administration reported that the death toll had risen to six.
