Today, July 9, during the day, Russian forces struck the village of Pravdyne in Ukraine’s Kherson region. As a result of the attack, a boy just one year and two months old was killed, according to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

"These children's toys, scattered by the blast wave, belonged to Dmytryk. He was only one year and two months old. Today, he was killed by Russia — mercilessly and deliberately," Prokudin wrote.

According to him, Russian forces hit a private home in the village of Pravdyne, where the child was staying with his great-grandmother.

The head of the regional administration expressed his condolences to the boy's family and vowed to avenge the Russian soldiers.

Russia continues targeting children

Earlier, in April, Russian forces launched a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih. The missile exploded near a playground.

It was later revealed that the Russian ballistic missile carried a cluster warhead, designed to maximize civilian casualties.

Nine children were killed in that strike. The United Nations called it the deadliest single attack on children since the full-scale invasion began.
