Russia's army carried out a series of missile and drone strikes on Kyiv on December 27. As of now, one person has been reported killed and nearly 30 others injured, according to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

According to him, body fragments were found at one of the strike sites. The incident involves a direct hit on a multi-story residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

"At this location, preliminarily, we have one fatality. We found body fragments. Rescuers have just reported this. We do not yet know whether it is a woman, but it is an adult," Klymenko said.

Meanwhile, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the number of injured in the capital had increased significantly.

"There are already 28 injured in the capital. Thirteen people have been hospitalized in city medical facilities," he wrote.

December 27 attack

On the night of December 27, Russian forces carried out a combined attack on Kyiv. As a result of the shelling, fires broke out in seven districts of the capital.

In the Holosiivskyi district, three cars caught fire on the premises of a service station after a drone crash; the fire was quickly extinguished. In the Obolonskyi district, a three-story private house was engulfed in flames. In the Darnytskyi district, several private homes are burning, a fire was recorded on the top floor of a 24-story building, and there was a threat of the fire spreading to a nearby nursing home. In the Dniprovskyi district, a fire broke out in an 18-story residential building.

According to preliminary information, about 20 people were injured in the capital, including two children. Due to the attack, emergency power outages were introduced in Kyiv, and nearly one-third of the city was left without heating.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that since the night Russia has been carrying out another massive strike on Ukraine, using nearly 500 attack drones, including Shahed-type drones, as well as more than 40 missiles, including Kinzhal missiles.
