Kinzhals and Shaheds are Russia's real response to peace talks - Zelenskyy

Russia has been carrying out another massive attack on Ukraine since the night, using nearly 500 strike drones, including Shaheds, as well as more than 40 missiles, including Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated.
According to him, the main target of the attack was Kyiv. Energy facilities and civilian infrastructure came under fire. In the capital, there were direct hits and residential buildings were damaged. Rescuers are searching for a person under the rubble of one of the buildings.
In several districts of Kyiv and the surrounding region, electricity and heating supplies have been cut off, and efforts to extinguish fires are ongoing. Repair crews have already begun work at some energy facilities, while at others, staff remain in shelters and will start restoration work after air raid alerts end.
Zelenskyy stressed that instead of responding to international proposals to end the war, Russia is speaking the language of missiles and drones.
“Russian representatives engage in long conversations, but in reality, it is the Kinzhals and Shaheds that speak for them. This is the true attitude of Putin and his inner circle,” Zelenskyy said.
He emphasized that the Kremlin has no intention of ending the war and is trying to increase pressure on Ukraine and its international partners. Therefore, the response must be strong and decisive.
The president called on partners to step up support for Ukraine, particularly in the field of air defense, and to ensure timely and sufficient deliveries of air defense systems.
“If Russia turns even the Christmas and New Year period into a time of destroyed homes and burned apartments, ruined power plants, then this sick activity can only be answered with truly strong steps. America has this capability. Europe has this capability. Many of our partners have this capability. The key is to use it,” he wrote.
Zelenskyy also said that Ukraine will continue diplomatic efforts and will discuss security issues with European leaders, the Prime Minister of Canada, and the President of the United States.
