A new meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group will take place in September, and preparations for it have already begun, according to Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram.

Shmyhal held a phone conversation with UK Defense Secretary John Healey. The defense ministers discussed preparations for the next Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting.

"The meeting will take place in September. We coordinated key positions. I thanked the UK for its active preparations and organization of the meeting," Shmyhal noted.

The defense ministers also discussed the development of joint production and the implementation of bilateral projects in the defense industry. Shmyhal expects the UK to play an important role in the new US and NATO mechanism — the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List.

Through this mechanism, NATO member states and partners can finance the supply of US weapons and technologies through voluntary contributions.
