Czech Minister of Defense, Jana Černochová, says that the country has to get out from the UN after the General Assembly passed an anti-Israel resolution.

Černochová strongly condemned the UN resolution, which calls for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and does not condemn the actions of the militants.

The Minister believes that Czechia should leave the UN, which, in her opinion, supports terrorists.

"I am ashamed of the UN. In my opinion, Czechia has nothing to expect in an organization that supports terrorists and does not respect the basic right to self-defense. Let's get out," the Minister emphasized.

Background

On Friday, October 27, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. The draft document was prepared by Jordan and more than 40 other countries. The resolution was not supported by 14 countries, including Czechia. Another 45 countries abstained, including Ukraine.

The UN resolution condemns violence against Palestinians and Israelis and calls for a humanitarian ceasefire and the release of hostages.
