Crucial Russian weapons plant attacked: Details

The Energia plant, which is important for the Russian military-industrial complex, was attacked in the city of Yelets, Lipetsk region of Russia. The company has stopped working, according to Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation.
According to Kovalenko, the plant produces:
- batteries and accumulators that Russians use in drones, aviation, the navy, and radio engineering
- lithium-ion and mercury-zinc cells are used in communication, control, electronic warfare systems, and simulators for tanks and missile systems
- electrochemical capacitors used for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense
- light-optical power plants that provide an autonomous power supply without laying power lines.
Among other things, Energia cooperates with Roscosmos, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Security Service, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and Gazprom.
The plant's products are used in communications, control, electronic warfare, UAVs, and in the production of Iskander and Kinzhal missiles.
"The plant is under sanctions from the EU, the US, Japan, and other countries because of its importance to the Russian military-industrial complex. However, it continued to operate. As of now, after the attack, the plant is suspending its work," Kovalenko added.
Ukraine's strikes on Russia
Ukraine regularly strikes military targets, such as factories, ammunition depots, logistics facilities, and oil refineries on Russian territory. The purpose of the strikes is to try to reduce Russia's ability to supply the army and wage war. For example, only recently, drones of the Security Service of Ukraine hit two Russian military-industrial complex plants, Splav and Basalt.
