Czech President Petr Pavel has no ambition to become Europe's negotiator in efforts to end the war in Ukraine, but he is willing to share his experience working with NATO, according to ČTK.

The Czech president noted that European countries should choose their own representative for the process. At the same time, he said he was ready to get involved if needed.

"I definitely have no such ambition. I would certainly be glad to share my experience, both with NATO and the European Union. But European states will, of course, decide for themselves whom they want to see as their representative," Pavel emphasized.

Earlier, The Telegraph reported, citing diplomatic sources, that the Czech leader was being considered as one of several leading candidates to negotiate with Moscow.

However, the Czech president stressed that no actual discussions or negotiations on the matter had taken place, describing the reports as a journalistic conclusion based on his previous statements.

Earlier, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni called on the European Union to clearly designate its negotiators on Ukraine to avoid confusion and chaos in the diplomatic process.

Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said he intended to discuss ending the war directly with Russian President Vladimir Putin after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
