Cooperation with US and security guarantees: Zelenskyy reveals details of London meeting

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with European leaders in London. One of the topics discussed was cooperation with the US, according to the head of state on Facebook.
After talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Zelenskyy emphasized that it is now very important to maintain unity between Europe and Ukraine, as well as between Ukraine, Europe, and the US.
"We discussed in detail today our joint diplomatic work with the US, agreed on a common position regarding the importance of security guarantees, reconstruction, and next steps," the president said.
He added that another topic of the talks was further defense support for Ukraine.
Zelenskyy thanked Macron, Starmer, and Merz for their willingness to stand with the Ukrainian people and assist on the path toward achieving peace.
Zelenskyy’s meeting with European leaders
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited London today, December 8, to meet with European leaders.
Following the talks, the participants did not speak to the press.
At the same time, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said during the meeting that he is skeptical about certain US proposals regarding an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
He also assured that the fate of Ukraine and the fate of Europe are linked.
Zelenskyy, in turn, stressed the need to align the positions of the European Union and the US on the diplomatic resolution of the war in Ukraine.
