Continuous Russian shelling rocks Sumy region on Ukraine border, one civilian injured
Russian forces today struck eight communities in the Sumy region on the Ukraine-Russia border. One person was injured as a result of the enemy attacks, according to the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
"During the day, there were 28 enemy shelling incidents recorded, with 164 explosions. Seventeen settlements in 8 territorial communities were shelled," the report stated.
Specifically, in the Krasnopilska community, there was mortar shelling (18 explosions) and self-propelled artillery (4 explosions). Additionally, 7 rockets were launched from a helicopter.
In the Bilopilska community, there were mortar attacks (26 explosions), artillery (4 explosions), field artillery (21 explosions), and grenade launcher attacks (10 explosions).
The Yunakivska community experienced field artillery attacks (8 explosions).
The Znob-Novhorodska community faced mortar shelling (11 explosions).
In the Seredyno-Budska community, there were field artillery attacks (3 explosions), mortar shelling (4 explosions), and grenade launcher attacks (5 explosions). A private grain storage roof and a house yard were damaged in the attacks.
The Velykopysarivska community was struck by mortars (33 explosions). One person was injured, and four households were damaged.
The Novoslobidska community experienced rocket-propelled grenade attacks (2 explosions), with 2 rockets launched from a helicopter. The attacks caused damage to one household.
The Khotinska community faced mortar shelling (7 explosions).
Rocket strike on Sumy city
Earlier, Russian occupiers shelled the city of Sumy, hitting an educational institution with a missile. The attack also caused damage to neighboring buildings and dormitories.
As of 12 am, it is known that two people were killed, and 20 others were injured as a result of the attack.
On July 22, the Russian military once again shelled the border areas of the Sumy region, one person was killed and several injured.
