Cluster munitions found in Ukraine's Lviv region after Russian attack: What the risks are

Following a recent missile and drone strike on the territory of the Drohobych community in Lviv region, dangerous cluster munitions were discovered, according to the Drohobych City Council.
"The blast radius of such munitions is up to 30 meters. The area is currently under the control of relevant services and is being examined by explosive ordnance experts," the statement reads.
The territory where the munitions were found is currently marked with signs reading "Danger: Mines."
Authorities reminded the public that approaching the industrial facility that was hit is strictly prohibited.
Residents are urged to:

avoid approaching the site of the strike;

refrain from photographing or sharing the location of explosive objects;

not touch suspicious items, not dig, and not attempt to move them;

immediately call 102 (Police - ed.) if any suspicious objects are found.
The munitions are described as round, gray in appearance, and may be partially covered with debris or soil.
"We ask everyone to exercise maximum caution and rely only on official sources of information. Additional updates on demining operations will be provided. We urge residents to take this information seriously and spread it as widely as possible," the authorities said.
Massive attack on the night of June 29
On the night of June 29, Russian forces launched one of the largest-scale attacks on Ukrainian territory. During the assault, the enemy used:

4 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles;

7 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;

41 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles;

5 Kalibr cruise missiles;

3 S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles.
As of 08:30 AM Kyiv time, the neutralization of 475 aerial threats had been confirmed.
"Enemy air weapons were confirmed to have struck six locations, while debris from intercepted projectiles fell in eight locations," the Air Force reported at the time.
