President of the United States Joe Biden has urged Congress to promptly support the bill to aid Ukraine and send it to him for signature at a press conference on Tuesday, February 6.

"I’m calling on Congress to pass this bill, get it to my desk immediately. But if the bill fails, I want to be absolutely clear about something: the American people are going to know why it fails," he says.

Biden emphasizes that if Congress does not support the bill, then all voters in the United States will know that at the moment when the government was gathering to secure the border and fund support for Ukraine, Donald Trump and the Republicans said "no."

"Because they’re afraid of Donald Trump. Afraid of Donald Trump. Every day between now and November, the American people are going to know that the only reason the border is not secure is Donald Trump and his Maga Republican friends. It’s time for Republicans in the Congress to show a little courage, to show a little spine, to make it clear to the American people that you work for them, not for anyone else," he states.

At the same time, the American leader stated that without new assistance for Ukraine, there would be less weaponry for Kyiv to defend against Russian aggression.

"The clock is ticking," says Biden.

U.S. aid to Ukraine

Earlier, we reported that the U.S. Senate introduced a new bill regarding aid to Ukraine. It combines funding for assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and strengthening the southern border of the United States.

By the way, Biden's team sharply criticized the bill on assistance to Israel without Ukraine.

Also, U.S. President Joe Biden proposed to Congress to allocate $106 billion in aid to Ukraine and Israel. But the issue remains unresolved.
