Christmas strike on Ukraine shows Putin is not interested in peace – Dutch foreign minister
Russia’s massive shelling of Ukraine on Christmas proves that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is not interested in peace. He wants to destroy Ukraine, according to the Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp.
"On Christmas morning, Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine's energy sector. This malicious timing shows that Putin is not interested in peace, only in the destruction of Ukraine," he said.
He assured that the Netherlands will remain committed in 2025 to ending this brutal aggression.
Massive strike on Ukraine
On the night of December 25, Russian forces launched 78 missiles at Ukraine, targeting energy facilities in several regions.
Following the attack, energy companies had to introduce power outage schedules across Ukraine. Several energy facilities were damaged by Russian strikes.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin deliberately chose to strike Ukraine with missiles and drones on Christmas night.
Meanwhile, Keith Kellogg, the future special envoy for Ukraine of US President-elect Donald Trump, described the attack as a brutal attack.
