China seeks to create conditions for resolving 'Ukrainian crisis' - China's Foreign Ministry

China aims to create conditions for resolving the "Ukrainian crisis" by seeking mutually acceptable agreements for both sides of the conflict. The country will support all efforts directed at a peaceful resolution, the Ukrainian news website Ukrinform reports, citing China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
"On the Ukrainian issue, our position has always been objective and impartial, our voice has always been calm and balanced, and our goal is to create conditions and reach a consensus for a peaceful resolution of the 'Ukrainian crisis' (as China refers to Russia's war against Ukraine – ed.)," said the Chinese Foreign Minister.
According to the Chinese representative, China supports all initiatives aimed at restoring peace but emphasizes the need to consider the "complexity of the causes of the 'crisis'."
"As a Chinese proverb says, it takes more than one cold day to freeze three feet of ice, and likewise, melting this ice is not possible overnight. No one wins in a conflict, but everyone wins in peace. Conflict ends and peace begins at the negotiating table," the Minister stated.
The Chinese high-ranking official emphasized that although Ukraine and Russia still have no common ground on the conditions for ending the war, all parties seek to achieve a just and lasting peace that will be universally accepted and binding.
"This is a valuable shared starting point that all parties should strive for. China is ready to work with the international community to continue playing a constructive role in resolving the 'crisis' and achieving lasting peace," Wang Yi declared.
At the same time, according to the Chinese Foreign Minister, the tragedy could have been avoided. He added that all parties must learn from this conflict.
"All sides should learn something from this conflict. In particular, security must be mutual and equal, and no country should build its security at the expense of another. We must act in accordance with a new vision of common, comprehensive, and sustainable security, as this is the path to true lasting peace on the Eurasian continent and worldwide," Wang Yi concluded.
China’s position on peaceful resolution of war in Ukraine
Yesterday, China’s Special Envoy for European Affairs Lu Shaye stated that Ukraine and Europe should participate in the peace process on equal footing with Russia and the United States. He emphasized that the conditions for peace cannot be determined solely by Moscow and Washington.
