China seeks stronger ties with France to mediate Ukraine war

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Wang Yi, reported that China aims to strengthen strategic communication and coordination with France for a political settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
"China is ready to strengthen strategic communication and coordination with France and further play a constructive role in the political settlement of such hot issues as the 'Ukrainian crisis' and the Middle East," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China.
According to him, the peaceful resolution of international conflicts through dialogue and consultations remains the only correct choice for humanity.
"China and France, which are permanent members of the UN Security Council, must adhere to the fundamental goals of this organization and develop friendly bilateral diplomatic relations, based on independence from outside influences, and jointly contribute to world peace, stability and development," added the Chinese diplomat.

We recall that Wang Yi recently met with the Chief Diplomat of the EU, Kaja Kallas. During the meeting, he stated that Beijing cannot afford to see Russia defeated in the war against Ukraine.
At the same time, the Chinese side rejects any accusations that Beijing is helping Moscow. The diplomat claims that if this were true, then "the conflict would have long been over."
