China reacts to Ukraine-US talks in Jeddah

China supports all efforts for a peaceful resolution of the war in Ukraine and hopes for a fair and lasting solution acceptable to all parties, stated Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning during a briefing.
"China supports all efforts conducive to the peaceful settlement of the crisis. We hope that parties can find a just and lasting solution that is acceptable to all sides," she said.
She added that China will continue advocating for a political resolution to the Russia-Ukraine war.
"China is ready to work with the international community, and continue to play a constructive role for the political settlement of the Ukraine crisis," she noted.
It is worth noting that relations between the US and China remain complex. While the two countries cooperate from time to time, they continue to compete for global leadership.
