Ukraine seeks peace and is ready to negotiate to end the war. Ukraine is also approaching today's negotiations with US officials from a "very open" place, CNN reports, citing Andrii Yermak, Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine.

"Now we think it’s necessary to discuss the most important: how to start this process. And we’re very open, very open. And we want to have very constructive, deep, friend, partners conversation with our American partners," Yermak told journalists in Jeddah before the start of the meeting.

According to the Head of the Presidential Office, security guarantees for Ukraine from the US are "very important" to prevent Russia from attacking again after a potential agreement is reached. However, Yermak added that the priority of the meeting is to launch the process of achieving peace with Moscow through negotiations.

At the same time, Yermak refused to disclose what concessions Ukraine is willing to make to reach a peace agreement.

Negotiations in Saudi Arabia

Today, negotiations between the Ukrainian and American delegations are taking place in Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, they will likely discuss issues related to resuming US aid to Ukraine. The exchange of intelligence data from the US will also be addressed.

According to US President Donald Trump, he expects positive results from the negotiations in Saudi Arabia.

On the other hand, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Ukraine must cede territories seized by Russia since 2014 as part of a peace agreement.

Rubio also mentioned that he has no scheduled conversation with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is also currently visiting Jeddah.
