China reacts for the first time to North Korea sending troops to Russia
China is unaware of North Korea sending troops to the front in Ukraine to support Russia. China's position on Ukraine remains unchanged, stated Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jin.
Journalists asked him what China thought about North Korea sending troops to Russia. He replied that China did not know anything about this.
"The Chinese side is not aware of the situation," said Lin Jin.
"China's position on the Ukrainian crisis has been consistent and clear, and we hope all parties will promote a de-escalation of the situation and commit themselves to a political solution," the spokesperson added.
North Korea sends troops to Russia
It has become known that North Korea has sent military personnel to Russia to prepare for the war against Ukraine. Soldiers are reportedly training at four different training grounds, as indicated by video footage. Intelligence suggests that North Korea may have deployed up to 11,000 troops, although South Korea reports that there are currently about 3,000, and this number could rise to 10,000 by December.
Recently, South Korea condemned North Korea's decision to send troops to Russia, warning of potential consequences for Pyongyang.
