China has imposed sanctions on seven United States military companies and their executives. The move was made because of military aid and arms sales to Taiwan, according to the Global Times.

The agency reminds that the United States recently announced significant military assistance to Taiwan, which, according to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, seriously violates the one-China principle.

Beijing's sanctions were imposed against:

  • Insitu Inc;
  • Hudson Technologies Co;
  • Saronic Technologies, Inc;
  • Raytheon Canada;
  • Raytheon Australia;
  • Aerkomm Inc;
  • Oceaneering International, Inc;

“Their movable and immovable properties and other kinds of assets within China shall be frozen. All organizations and individuals within China shall be prohibited from engaging in transaction, cooperation and other activities with them, read the statement,” the Global Times added.

Relations between China and the United States

Relations between the United States and the People's Republic of China (PRC) remain complex and tense, covering areas such as trade, politics, security, and technology.

The two countries are global competitors, and their relationship is defined by economic rivalry and geopolitical tensions. This is especially evident in issues related to Taiwan, the situation in the South China Sea, and human rights.

Political ties between China and the Russian Federation (RF) have become an additional factor of tension. The United States has repeatedly drawn attention to the risks to China's international reputation due to its assistance to Moscow in circumventing sanctions imposed on Russia for its war against Ukraine.
