The Russian army carried out a massive attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. As a result, power outages in the Chernihiv region may be prolonged, according to Chernihivoblenergo (a regional power distribution company) on Telegram.

The company noted that power outages in the region began specifically due to serious damage to energy infrastructure facilities.

"We are doing everything possible to restore electricity, but the situation is difficult. Be prepared for prolonged outages! Priority will be given to restoring power to critical social facilities. Therefore, we ask in advance that those who have their electricity restored first limit their consumption. Everyone else – please be patient," added Chernihivoblenergo.

It also clarified that the enemy is targeting the energy sector to put pressure on civilians, expecting complaints, protests, and panic among Ukrainians.

At the same time, residents of the Chernihiv region were asked not to approach energy facilities during Russian attacks.
