Can Ukraine get exoatmospheric Arrow 3 air defense system? Expert opinion
Ukraine is unlikely to receive the Arrow 3 air defense system, which is capable of intercepting ballistic missiles, as aviation expert Valerii Romanenko told RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, Ukraine cannot obtain the Arrow 3 systems because only a limited number of them have been produced. Additionally, such systems are much more expensive than the Patriot or SAMP-T air defense missile systems.
"We don't have that kind of money in Ukraine, nor do our allies. They can't provide us with a sufficient quantity of Patriots. We only have two batteries for the whole of Ukraine, and that only covers one city. As for Arrow-3, Israel has only one battery, and discussions about deployment in Germany are still in the realm of possibility," says Romanenko.
He adds that if these systems prove to be highly effective, they may be produced in larger quantities, but for now, it is more of an artificial product.

On October 31, Israel used the Arrow 3 exoatmospheric anti-ballistic missile system for the first time to intercept a ballistic missile launched from Yemen. This system is the top tier of Israel's layered air defense and is capable of destroying targets at altitudes of up to 100 kilometers.
