The President of the United States, Donald Trump, could potentially compel North Korea to cease its support for Russia through a meeting with Kim Jong Un, the Ukrainian political strategist Taras Zahorodnii shares this in a comment to the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel.

When asked whether Trump could stop the Democratic People's Republic of Korea from supporting Russia through direct negotiations with Kim Jong Un, Zahorodnii said such a scenario is entirely plausible.

"He (Trump - ed.) could say: 'How much is Putin giving you? I'll give you more.' Who has more money? The US. He could say that, or something like this: 'You do realize that American strategic bombers also have targets in North Korea. Don’t play games with us - this will end very badly for you.' Such a conversation could happen," the political strategist explained.

Zahorodni recalled that Trump had previously achieved certain agreements with Kim Jong Un during his prior term as US President. Those negotiations led to a halt in missile launches toward the US and the suspension of North Korea’s nuclear testing.

"Trump's goal was ensuring the safety of the United States of America," Zahorodnii added.

US-North Korea Relations

Historically, US-North Korea relations have been tense, primarily due to North Korea's nuclear program, international sanctions, and significant political differences. The US has repeatedly urged Pyongyang to stop nuclear testing and dismantle its nuclear infrastructure, while North Korea has viewed such demands as interference in its internal affairs.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump stated that he plans to resume talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
