Cabinet reshuffle in Ukraine: Umerov's future role to be decided on July 17

In Ukraine, the process of renewing the Cabinet is ongoing, and most ministers will retain their positions. As for Rustem Umerov’s future after resignation from the Ministry of Defense, it will be decided tomorrow, according to RBC-Ukraine's source.
Initially, Umerov was considered for the post of Ukraine's ambassador to the USA. However, as we wrote earlier, plans have changed. Currently, the potential candidate for Washington is Deputy Prime Minister of Shmyhal's Cabinet, Olha Stefanishyna. And the new position for Umerov will be determined tomorrow.
It is expected that by the end of the day, the Rada will approve the new composition of the Cabinet. The Parliament has already appointed Yuliia Svyrydenko as Prime Minister, and consideration of personnel issues in the Rada is ongoing.
Currently, the only unresolved issue is the position of Minister of Culture. According to RBC-Ukraine, the decision regarding the new Minister of Culture will be made later.
Reshuffling in the Cabinet
We remind that yesterday, July 16, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and his government.
Thus ended Shmyhal’s five-year tenure as Prime Minister.
RBC-Ukraine reported with reference to its sources that the resignation of the Prime Minister is not due to any single reason, but rather a series of factors. In particular, the need to "renew the system" amid a protracted war, public fatigue, and internal competition within the authorities.
There is also a possibility that the scandal surrounding the case of Deputy Prime Minister–Minister of National Unity Oleksii Chernyshov was one of the factors that significantly accelerated the personnel reshuffles in the government.
It should be noted that Yulia Svyrydenko has already been appointed to replace Shmyhal.
More details on the reshuffles–in the RBC-Ukraine article.
RBC-Ukraine has already explained that as of the morning of July 17, the most likely candidate for the post of Ukraine’s ambassador to the USA is Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Olha Stefanishyna.
Currently, Kyiv is waiting for a preliminary reaction to her candidacy from the American side.
