Bus with youth soccer team crashes on way to game in US, over 20 children injured

A bus carrying children football players was involved in an accident near Pittsburgh. More than twenty children were taken to hospitals, according to AP News.
The bus, which was transporting the Aliquippa Juc junior football team to a game, crashed on Saturday approximately 32 km north of Pittsburgh.
Economy Township Police Chief Michael O’Brien stated that the accident occurred around 9:55 a.m. local time on Shaffer Road in Economy Borough. The bus tipped onto its side, damaging power lines.
Michael O’Brien stated that the accident occurred in a hard-to-reach section of the road.
“It’s on a bad bend. It’s being investigated now to determine what happened,” said the police chief.
There were 28 people on the vehicle, 25 students and three adults, with 21 of them taken to hospitals.
Some of the children were airlifted to Allegheny General Hospital, while others were taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and Heritage Valley Sewickley. Two of the accompanying adults were unharmed.
Aliquippa Mayor Dwan Walker called on the community to come together and support those affected, expressing his sympathy and asking everyone to pray for the children.
