In the final declaration of the NATO summit in The Hague, there will be "important wording" regarding Ukraine, its support, including financial support. However, the content of the declaration will not be disclosed at this time, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated during a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the NATO summit in The Hague.

According to him, an important summit is approaching, including important decisions regarding Ukraine, which are indeed based on Washington, where last year’s summit was held.

"We have an important Summit coming up, including important decisions on Ukraine, which is really building on the Washington summit last year, where we decided that it's an irreversible path for Ukraine into NATO. We are building this bridge as we speak," said Rutte.

He also recalled that European and Canadian allies promised to allocate more than 35 billion euros to support Ukraine. He believes that "it is safe to assume that for the full year it will be more than last year."

“Of course, I cannot disclose anything about the summit declaration, but we can be safe to assume that in the summit declaration will be important language about Ukraine and support for Ukraine, also financially going forward,” said the NATO Secretary General.

NATO Summit

Let us recall that on June 24–25, a NATO countries summit will take place in The Hague (Netherlands). As part of the summit, a meeting of the Ukraine–NATO Council will also be held.

Earlier, Bloomberg reviewed a draft of the final document of the NATO summit in The Hague.

The media outlet noted that the document will not contain a promise to admit Ukraine to the Alliance. Over the past two years, the final statements of NATO summits have described Ukraine’s membership as inevitable.
