Bucharest summons Russian ambassador over Shahed incident
Romania has summoned the Russian ambassador in protest over the drone "Shahed" falling on its territory during a night attack by terrorists on Ukraine, writes Romania's ambassador to NATO, Dan Neculăescu.
"Romania summoned the Russian ambassador to protest against these continued actions, which are in flagrant contradiction with the international law and an irresponsible escalation," the ambassador wrote.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania has expressed its protest over the fall of the Shahed terrorist country's drone and called for an end to constant attacks on the Ukrainian population and civilian infrastructure, as well as irresponsible escalation of the security situation.
Fall of Shahed in Romania
The Ministry of Defense of Romania officially confirmed the fall of the Shahed in an uninhabited area about 4 km upstream from Grindu. A crater with a depth of 1.5 meters was found at the site.
During Russia's attack on Ukraine, the Romanian Air Force deployed F-17 fighter jets and a German Eurofighter aircraft.

In total, the Russians used 42 UAVs. The main direction of the attack was the Odessa region. Due to the debris of UAVs falling in the region, a dormitory was damaged, and 11 people were injured.
According to the Air Force, Ukrainian forces destroyed 41 drones.
