The United Kingdom is considering all possible scenarios regarding the approach of newly elected US President Donald Trump toward Ukraine. British officials are discussing and planning various options for future cooperation, according to the Chief Secretary of the UK Treasury, Darren Jones.

Currently, according to Jones, the UK will continue its cooperation with the Biden administration until Trump's inauguration, adhering to the current policy of supporting Ukraine, which aligns with Britain's stance.

"Our commitment to Ukraine as a country here in the UK is resolute," emphasized Jones, adding that the US is offering funding of £3 billion annually despite economic challenges.

After Trump takes office, Britain is prepared to discuss potential changes in U.S. policy toward Ukraine with the new administration.

At the same time, Jones said that he is not prepared to commit to defense spending of 2.5% of GDP, as security priorities need to be balanced with other areas of the budget.

On November 11, U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss measures against a possible reduction in US support for Ukraine under Donald Trump’s leadership.

Among the main issues is the possibility of persuading current US President Joe Biden to authorize Ukraine to launch Storm Shadow missiles at targets deep within Russian territory.
