Boris Johnson comments on conversation between Putin and Trump

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson commented on the phone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the war in Ukraine. He believes that the Kremlin leader does not want peace, according to his post on the social media platform X.
"What a surprise - Putin rejects an unconditional ceasefire. He wants to keep bombing and killing innocent Ukrainians," Johnson wrote.
He added that the Russian President aims to disarm, neutralize, and make Ukraine a vassal state of Russia.
"He isn’t negotiating. He’s laughing at us," the former British Prime Minister concluded.
Trump-Putin negotiations
Yesterday, US President Donald Trump held a nearly two-hour phone conversation with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.
The central topic of the talks was the issue of ending the war in Ukraine. Specifically, Ukraine had earlier agreed to a full 30-day ceasefire, while Putin, following the conversation, only agreed to halt attacks on energy and infrastructure. However, it is worth noting that despite the agreement, Russian forces launched drones at Ukraine.
Shortly afterward, Trump’s special representative for the Middle East announced that negotiations on a ceasefire in Ukraine would begin this Sunday. It should be noted that these talks are not about halting combat on the front lines, but about a partial ceasefire concerning infrastructure. However, it is still unclear whether Ukraine will be part of these talks, and, so far, no announcements have been made from Russia's side either.
