Ukrainian border guards have detained 8 individuals who were attempting to illegally cross the Ukrainian border, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
"Despite the weather and... the law: 8 men attempted to cross the border in Zakarpattia," wrote border guards in their Telegram channel.
According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, a local resident was transporting four of the detainees to the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, but not in a very friendly manner, and for $4,000 from each.
Two more adventurers were planning to conquer the Carpathian highlands on motorcycles, forging a path to Romania.
In the third case, border guards detained a resident of the capital who, without equipment or appropriate clothing, intended to independently reach Romania through the mountains.
