Entry and exit at Ukraine's border checkpoints have been temporarily suspended due to a malfunction in the customs database, the State Border Guard Service reported.
The cause is a malfunction in the system for processing citizens and vehicles entering and leaving Ukraine.
According to the relevant authorities, specialists are already working to restore the database. Once the issue is resolved, border operations will resume in full.
Citizens and carriers are advised to consider these temporary restrictions when planning trips and to follow official updates.
Earlier, Poland connected the Hrebenne–Rava-Ruska checkpoint to the EU Entry/Exit System (EES).
About EES
The European Union launched a new biometric control system, EES, which replaces traditional passport stamps and automatically records entry and exit data for third-country nationals, including Ukrainians. The system officially started operating on October 12, 2025, at external EU borders, including those with Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania.
On the first crossing, travelers are registered with photos and fingerprints; subsequent checks are automated.
Additionally, Romania extended traffic restrictions at the Solotvyno–Sighetu Marmației checkpoint due to bridge repairs over the Tisza River. Work will last 33 days from October 27, with vehicle traffic blocked daily from 09:00 to 15:30, while pedestrian crossing remains open as usual.
